Neurofeedback

qEEG testing documents abnormalities in electrical relationships between major areas of the brain by comparing the patient's results with chronological peers and an FDA-registered normative database.  These results are particularly valuable whenever there is a question of Attention-Deficit\Hyperactivity Disorder, Asperger's, Autism, Closed Head Injury, Learning Disabilities, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Dementia, etc..

In addition, qEEGs provide us with very specific "targeted" information for effective use during neurofeedback training and photobiomodulation. In fact, many clinicians believe qEEG-driven neurofeedback and photobiomodulation pulsation  is, ultimately, more effective and cost efficient than using standard neurofeedback protocols.

Neurofeedback is now recognized as a scientifically-valid treatment for stress, traumatic brain injury, attention-deficit\hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, stroke, epilepsy, anxiety, depression, etc., when based on QEEG findings, recent meta-analyses of the scientific data has classified neurofeedback for Attention-Deficit\Hyperactivity Disorder as Level 1. We also now utilize transcranial photobiomodulation as either a means of enhancing the effectiveness of neurofeedback, or stand alone treatment.

Scientific research indicates that we are actually making longstanding beneficial changes to the brain with neurofeedback. For example, Dr. Joel Lubar, at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, completed 10- and 15-year followup studies for patients treated with neurofeedback for ADHD. Dr. Lubar found that the participants and their brains in this study 15 years later were doing as well as they had after completing their original baseline treatment with neurofeedback.

Unfortunately, most physicians are either unfamiliar with, or have not been properly educated about, the many legitimate clinical applications of qEEG, biofeedback, HEG, neurofeedback and transcranial photobiomodulation, despite the voluminous amount of existing and evolving scientific research of its clinical use since the early 1970s available for review on the National Library of Medicine's web page.

In-home qEEG evaluation is available on a local level for non-ambulatory patients, and professional artifacting and brain mapping services via the Internet as well as at-a-distance neurofeedback training worldwide.
