Ms. Sarah Zovnic is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of South Carolina. She received her Master in Rehabilitation Counseling degree, and Certification in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
In addition, she recently applied for Board Certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Ms. Zovnic is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and the South Carolina Mental Health Counselors Association.
Before joining the professional staff of McCarthy Counseling Associates, PA, Ms. Zovnic worked as a School-based Counselor, and then Clinical Counselor in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services, for the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health.
Previously, she also worked as an After Hours Emergency Services On-Call Clinical Counselor providing crisis evaluations and admissions screenings for psychiatric hospitalization at Conway, Loris and Grand Strand Hospitals on a rotational basis; Domestic Abuse Counselor for the Domestic Abuse Center in Myrtle Beach, South carolina; and, Patient Advocate for Protection & Advocacy for People with Disabilities Inc. in Coloumbia, South Carolina.
Ms. Zovnic specializes in the treatment of Asperger's and Autism, Tourette's and Obsessive-Compulsive Disaorder, and domestic violence.
