Mrs. Jennifer McCarthy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of South Carolina. She received her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, in Old Brookville, New York, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Human Services from Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York.
In addition, she has been granted Board Certification as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Mrs. McCarthy is also an Irlen Certified Screener for Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome with the Irlen Institute.
While deciding to dedicate herself to full-time parenting, Mrs. McCarthy remains on the Staff as a Consultant to our practice.
Mrs. McCarthy is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA); American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA); and, Chi Sigma Iota, Lamda Iota Upsilon Chapter.
Before joining the professional staff of McCarthy Counseling Associates, PA, Mrs. McCarthy worked as a Day Treatment Therapist in the Dual Diagnosis Program at Osceola Mental Health in Kissimmee, Florida, and part-time Counselor for the Mental Health Association of Nassau County, Inc. in Hempstead, New York.
She also worked as an intern at the Long Island Association for AIDS Care in Huntington Station, New York. Although no longer seeing patients, Mrs. McCarthy continues to serve as a Staff Consultant.
